The City of Prince George is currently recruiting Lifeguard/Instructors to join our team of professionals in the Aquatics Division. The focus of these positions is to provide lifeguarding functions, instruct swimming lessons, assist in the operation of an aquatic facility and respond to a variety of customer requests and concerns.  The hours are flexible and varied involving morning, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.


Completion of Grade 10 is required as well as current certificates and awards as follows:

  • National Lifeguard Service Award Pool Option
  • CPR 'C' Certificate
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • Safety-oriented first aid or equivalent (7 hours)
  • Certified Diving Instructor considered an asset.


Recruitment Timeline:


Skills Testing:  September 3 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Interviews:  September 6 to September 13

Orientation:  September 19, 26, October 1, 3, 8, 10 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm


As a condition of employment, successful applicants are required to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offenses related to the position.


These casual part-time positions offer an hourly rate of $25.83 plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
