About The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for shop and field mechanical work in the maintenance, overhaul and repair of a variety of City heavy duty fleet and equipment. Following established trade practices, the incumbent will exercise considerable independence of judgement and action in completing their assignments in a safe manner.

 

About Your Background:

You have a valid BC or Inter-Provincial Heavy Duty Mechanic qualification or a Commercial Transport Repair Certificate coupled with extensive heavy equipment experience.  You have obtained the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program qualification (C.V.I.P.) and have a minimum of four years' experience working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic; including recent experience (within the last five years) working with electronic and computer data analysis for trouble shooting, tune ups and adjustments. A valid, full privilege Class 3 driver's license with airbrake endorsement is required as well as a commitment to providing quality customer service and working within a proactive team environment.
