About The Opportunity:

In this exciting and challenging role, you will perform work of a technical nature in the R.C.M.P. examining and processing a variety of evidentiary video. Responsibilities include examining and analyzing digital multimedia evidence utilizing a variety of technologies and wide range of software techniques to extract evidence and to defend and support methods used in court. You will attend crime scenes to recover video evidence and may be required to attend court and provide evidence. Throughout the course of your duties, you will be exposed to extremely graphic and disturbing information and visual materials.

About Your Background:

Along with a two year college diploma in Computer Information Systems, Broadcasting, Computer Graphics, or related discipline, you have at least two years of technical experience in the areas of digital imaging, digital video processing, video analysis, or broadcasting. Preference given to individuals with LEVA (Law Enforcement Video Association) certification as a Forensic Video Technician. This role requires proficiency in software typically used in a Forensic Video Analysis Workflow such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Omnivore, and Audacity. Strong attention to detail is required, along with the ability to work in stressful situations and under significant deadlines. A valid Class 5 driver's license is required. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clear RCMP Reliability Status.
