About The Opportunity:

As a Plan Checker you are responsible for plan checking, issuing building / demolition / plumbing / sign permits and ensuring residential, commercial, industrial and institutional developments are in compliance with the BC Building Code (BCBC), provincial and federal regulations and City bylaws. Plan Checkers are also responsible for providing advice on a wide variety of construction matters.

About Your Background:

You possess a Journeyman's Ticket or Trade Qualification in Carpentry OR have completed a recognized technical school diploma program in Building or Construction Technology. You have also completed BOABC Certification Level I and have a minimum of three years of directly related experience. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the BC Building Code, provincial and federal regulations and City bylaws concerning development, construction, alteration and repair of buildings and structures. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offenses related to the position.
