About The Opportunity:

As a key member of the management team at the RCMP Detachment, you will assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the RCMP detachment and provide expertise and support in all matters related to the management of employees. You will ensure that the division's hiring activities are conducted in accordance with City and legal requirements as well as industry best practices; assist unionized supervisors in managing and improving performance; identify potential disciplinary issues and implement progressive discipline; proactively manage attendance; support employees to effectively resolve conflict in the workplace; and recommend and coordinate attendance at various training opportunities. You will serve as an advocate for health and safety and will have primary responsibility for coordinating all building maintenance needs.

About Your Background:

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, along with at least five years' related experience within a unionized environment. Considerable knowledge of fundamental human resources practices is required, as is knowledge of health and safety regulations, occupational hazards and safe work practices. Success demands a strong emphasis on collaboration, communication, and establishing and maintaining positive, professional working relationships.
